[ARTICLE] Catching Up at WG·2PM, TWICE·GOT7 Roll In (feat. Director) [2016 Rising JYP①]

It's no exaggeration to say that 2016's the year of JYP. They overcome the previous few years when they faltered, and created some proud results that prove they're suitable to be called as one of the 'Big 3s'

From the successful comeback of Wonder Girls, the scary growth of GOT7, TWICE setting trends, the gust of wind on digital charts created by Baek Ayeon and Baek Yerin, to activities of 2PM sweeping Japan. Here also stands Park Jinyoung as the producer whom has given the number 1s to Unnies and I.O.I and showing the potential of the artists.

What's encouraging is a successful shift in generations. Representing the next generation of JYP, the hoobaes TWICE, GOT7, Baek Ayeon, Baek Yerin, etc. have risen and secure their positions, and they're expected to be taking their responsibilities reliably for the following years.

# "Trend of the Trend!"...TWICE·GOT7·Baek Ayeon·Baek Yerin, the 'Hot' Hoobae Line

In TWICE's situation, as a rookie girl group, exceptionally they are able to build a popular appeal and a solid fandom, reaching an undefeatable position (in the industry). The count on Gaon Streaming Chart of their debut song, 'Like Ooh-ahh' has surpassed 100 million, and of course, the MV has reached 100 million views as well, showing their potential. But that's not the end. The MV of 'Cheer Up' gathers 100 million views in the shortest time among all K-pop idols, proving they've become the 'hottest' idol in 2016. And 'TT' which was released in the 2nd half of the year is still staying in the top ranks on charts and receiving love.

GOT7 has shown a scary growth compared to last year. 'FLIGHT LOG: Departure' that was released in March has sold more than 170 thousands, while 'FLIGHT LOG: TURBULENCE' has sold over 220 thousands. They've also successfully ended their global tour.

Baek Ayeon and Baek Yerin now stand as the digital music giants that we can always trust. Baek Ayeon's 'So-so' and Baek Yerin's 'Bye Bye My Blue' receive much love in various charts for a long time, firmly grabbing their position.

# "Artist but Not Idol"...Park Jinyoung·Wonder Girls·2PM, the Reliable Sunbae Line
The sunbae team has clearly distinguish themselves in their own field and is securing their own markets. Through their self-composed song, Wonder Girls showed their matured side as 'artist' but not 'idol'. What's more is that 'Why So Lonely' takes over #1 of the digital singles chart for the 3rd quarter of 2016 on Gaon.

As expected, rather than focusing on appealing to the major audience, 2PM made their own way with the musical activities they want to do, and them growing above the label of 'idol' has since received acknowledgement from the industry. They also had their Arena tour in Japan, mobilizing 160 thousands of people, and even heated up Tokyo Dome. More than that, member Junho held his solo tours, showing his destructiveness with his individual activities. As for Taecyeon and Chansung, they have received acknowledgement from the viewers as actors, and Jun.K proves his musicality once again with his solo album.

Park Jinyoung has been very active as a producer. He participated as a producer for KBS2 TV's 'Unnie's Slamdunk' for the Unnies project. His work 'Shut Up' tops the charts and through the addition of i.o.i's 'Very Very Very', it can be seen that he has collected quite some good results.

The industry analyzes that this steep spirit (of JYP) will continue in 2017. TWICE and GOT7 will gather the spirit and show an even greater growth, while Baek Ayeon, Baek Yerin, and more will reinforce their image of the reliable musicians. Moreover, there will be Miss A's Suzy's solo in January. JYP's future is bright for certain.
